Shane's professional journey began in the early 1990s when he joined the Political Unit at CBS News in Washington, D.C., as a researcher. He subsequently advanced to more prominent roles at CBS in Philadelphia, serving as an Assignment Editor and Field Producer. These positions gave him invaluable insights into media production and the operational aspects of significant news operations.

In 1999, David's career took a significant leap forward when he joined Comcast in Philadelphia. Initially appointed Director of Communications, he developed and implemented a regional corporate communications model that would later be adopted throughout the organization. His leadership in this capacity led to his promotion to Vice President of Communications and Original Programming in 2001. In this role, he oversaw a division that boasted $8 billion in annual revenue and managed 18,000 employees.

Following his successful stint at Comcast, Shane was recruited by ICM Partners in 2005 as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications. His responsibilities there included overseeing global media relations and playing a pivotal role in government affairs and corporate events, significantly boosting the agency's public profile.

In 2008, David transitioned to the technology sector, joining Hewlett-Packard as Vice President of Global Corporate External Communications. He managed the communications strategy for mergers and acquisitions valued at nearly $20 billion and oversaw the company's digital strategy and government affairs communications.

Shane's career trajectory continued when he joined Relativity Media in 2012 as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer. In this role, he oversaw communications across multiple divisions, significantly enhancing the company's presence in the entertainment industry.

Leveraging his vast experience, David Shane PR founded Resolution Communications in 2017. As President and CEO, he now specializes in advising leading media and entertainment companies on complex communication challenges, focusing on corporate positioning and issues management.
